Get Liive Football Camp

As summer comes to an end and Football season quickly approaches, I wanted to share my first football related video post. Earlier this summer, I worked alongside Malka Media as the Director of Photography for this promo video for the Get Liive Football Camp. Tennessee Titan’s LB, Collin McCarthy and S.A.S. Sports Training  sponsored this event in which NFL players such as, Philadelphia Eagle’s WR, Riley Cooper and Atlanta Falcon’s K Matt Bosher train and  interact with children whom are passionate about football.  Press play and enjoy!

My Dream Is…

August 13, 2011. Chacraseca, Nicaragua. Eduardo is 1 of the 34 Dreamers in the Tengo Un Sueño project.  501 c (3) non-profit organization: Imagination Federation, mainly focuses on this project dedicated to support 34 kinder and first grade students. We provide an extra teacher, two part-time community organizers, uniforms, shoes, school supplies, along with twice a week tutoring and warm lunch.  The project is unique in scope.  It is a 16 year  agreement among parents, teachers, and organizers to do everything possible to provide these children with the tools necessary to succeed academically.  See more of my photos taken in Nicaragua!

Step Away From The Comfort Zone: Nicaragua Service Trip

On the second night of our trip, each Imagination Federation volunteer decided to sleep over a Dreamer’s house. Victoria Montero, college student from Miami, said, “It was a big shock. You really get to witness how poor these children are.  There was never a moment that I wanted to leave though, that family offered us every single thing they had. I have never felt so welcomed.” We all agreed that staying over the children’s homes were wonderful experiences and that this would be repeated in the next trips to come.

Boredom

August 2010. We visited different villages throughout Nicaragua and gave them powdered milk, toothpaste, tooth brushes,  and vitamins, along with hygiene lessons.  Apparently this child wasn’t too excited about classes though! Photo by Natalie Edgar

Make a difference.

In the summer of 2009, I visited Nicaragua for the first time. Here’s a piece of my heart.

This is a 16 year project currently in year two of existence. The goal is to get 34 children, in the first grade this year, to college. We are doing so by providing support in the form of shoes, uniforms, school supplies, warm lunch and tutoring twice a week, and two additional teachers. The cost for the program is $9,000.

Please visit one of the individual Dreamer pages to learn more about each child and support the possibility of an education.
